Megan Smith, a Canadian accessories designer, began her career in nursing working in a major trauma center in Toronto, and later decided to venture abroad to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to work for two years.

Ready to explore her other passion for jewelry design, Megan left her profession as a critical care nurse and moved to Dubai with her husband in 2006. Shortly after, Megan entered into ladies fashion accessories, which began with the distribution of crystal replacement bra straps and genuine Austrian crystal body tattoos. In 2011, she established New Diamond Trading where she first designed a specialty line of shoe jewelry using genuine Austrian crystals. She then expanded her line to include making elegant body chains also using genuine Austrian crystals, that were featured in a recent Dubai fashion show being worn with abayas, which was well-received. Her products have been featured in local media publications and several ranges of New Diamond products are being retailed at The Bridal Showroom in Galeries LaFayette and their JLT showroom, TKD Lingerie store in Jumeirah Town Center Mall, Beljour Bridal Boutique in Dubai and Nuit D’Art an online lingerie boutique.

She has since joined the team at English-Strickland and Associates as Partner and Business Development Manager, where she’s working to bring her business ethics into play to help bring this company to the forefront in its field.
